Welcome to Ladybirds Class!

My name is Mrs Hill and I am the Class Teacher and we are lucky to have Miss Davis working in our class too!

Throughout the week we will have lots of other adults working in our class helping to support our learning. Ms Ramsdale, Mrs Hargreave and our PE coach will become familiar to you as they enhance our learning with sports, outdoor activities and music.

Our Core Text for Spring 2 is:

In Maths we are learning… 

 We will continue to consolidate our knowledge of numbers 6,7 and 8 and be able to represent them in different ways. We will be know to add two numbers together and begin to know the number bonds for each number.

This term we will learn to represent numbers 9 and 10 and understand the value of each.  We will also use our learning of the numbers we've learnt so far to understand less & more. 

The children will consolidate capacity, weight, length and height and use to measure.

In Phonics we are learning… 

We will ensure children are secure in all of Phase 2 phonics & tricky words before moving onto Phase 3 sounds.

Things to Remember...

• Children need a coat with them every single day. If the weather is nice, children are fine to leave their coats in school during playtimes
• We will have PE on a Wednesday and Friday all children will need a full PE kit in school to use. Children will need shorts, t-shirt and pumps and all items of clothing will need to be labelled.
• Handwriting Books will be given out on a Friday with a few letters for children to rehearse and practise at home. Books will need to be returned to school and completed by Thursday.
• The expectation is that Reading book bags need to come into school every day and reading at home needs to take place daily. Please sign inside the Reading Record once you have read with your child. They will be rewarded with Dojo Points in class for any Reading they do at home.
