Welcome to Butterflies' Class Page

Please read below all the exciting things we are going to be doing in Autumn 1

Our topic this term is Good to be Me. We will learn all about ourselves, what we look like, our hobbies and our families.

Our Core Text is: We're Going on a Bear Hunt

In Maths we are learning… 

Throughout our first half term the children will spend lots of time exploring the composition of numbers to 5. They will learn to link the number symbol with its cardinal number value. Alongside this, children will be taught to count objects, actions and sounds. Children will also begin to learn how numbers up to 5 are formed.

In Phonics we are learning… 

Within this half term Reading Books will be sent home in a Book Bag when the children are ready.

Children will begin to learn individual sounds from Phase 2 and understand how to recognise, write, pronounce and read these sounds. Children will learn the skill of blending, in order to read simple words.

Please don’t forget that children’s book bags need to be in school daily and reading records should be signed to show that children are reading at home 5 times a week.

Butterflies have PE on Thursdays so please ensure your child has their PE kit in school. 

Only stud earrings should not be worn for school in line with the uniform policy.
