Please read below all the exciting things we are going to be doing in Summer 2!  

Summer 2! 

Our topic this term is: Once Upon A Time

  These are the specific texts which we are going to be reading to enhance our learning: 

Jack and The Beanstalk

Goldilocks and The Three Bears

Hansel and Gretel

Little Red Riding Hood

Our Core Text for Spring 2 is: You Choose Fairy Tales

In Maths we are learning… 

 We are looking at teen numbers!! Whilst still consolidating our number bonds to 10, learning doubling facts within 10, understanding how to share equally between groups and learning the terms odd and even.

In Phonics we are learning… 

We are going to be consolidating our Phase 3 sounds whilst introducing Phase 4 sounds & tricky words: her, all, are, like, said, when, have, one, come, do, so, were, some, there, little, what, out. 

vRecognising our Phase 3 tricky words and reading them in our reading books. 

v To segment words to help us write sentences and apply phonics whilst writing to accurately spell words.   

v To blend words using Phase 2 and Phase 3 phonemes to support our reading. 

Please don’t forget that children’s book bags need to be in school daily and reading records should be signed to show that children are reading at home 5 times a week.

Butterflies have PE on Thursdays so please ensure your child has their PE kit in. 

Earrings should not be worn for school in line with the uniform policy.
