Please read below all the exciting things we are going to be doing in Summer 1!

Our topic this term is: Let's Explore!

Our Core Text for Spring 2 is: The Train Ride

In Maths we are learning… 

v We are going to be consolidating our knowledge of number bonds to 10! 

v We will use 10’s frame and other practical resources to support us with our understanding of number. 

v Towards the end of the half term, we will be looking at numbers to 20 and begin looking at the value of these numbers and be able to count forwards and backwards to 20!

In Phonics we are learning… 

We are going to be learning Phase 3 sounds & tricky words: her, all, are, like, said, when, have, one, come, do, so, were, some, there, little, what, out.

vRecognising our Phase 3 tricky words and reading them in our reading books. 

v To segment words to help us write sentences and apply phonics whilst writing to accurately spell words.   

v To blend words using Phase 2 and Phase 3 phonemes to support our reading.​​​

Please don’t forget that children’s book bags need to be in school daily and reading records should be signed to show that children are reading at home 5 times a week.

Butterflies have PE on Thursdays so please ensure your child has their PE kit in. 

Earrings should not be worn for school in line with the uniform policy.
