Welcome to The Shore

Hello! I am Mrs Furlong- the teacher in The Shore. We are also very lucky to have Mrs Goodall, Mrs Sawer, Mrs Mahoney and Miss Pryce in our Class this year.

Spring Term

Our topic this term is 'Ourselves'.

For the first half of the Spring term, our core text is 'Marvellous Me' by Lisa Bullard. 

We will will basing lots of our work around this. 

We are continuing to follow the Core Word Progamme and by the end of the Spring Term we will have been learning how to find, say and sign all of the words below through using AAC, Makaton, songs and stories.

In Maths we are continuing our work on number as well as looking at shapes.

Other intervention that will be happening this half term are:

• sing and sign - focusing on our rhyme of the week we sing, explore, sign and make crafts.
• attention bucket - focus on gaining attention, waiting and turn taking,
• sensory story - emerging ourselves in stories by using our senses to explore it
• dough disco - building strength in out hands in preparation to write as well as following instructions.
• sensory circuits - learning how to self regulate using alerting, organising and calming techniques. 

We are excited for all the exciting things that are happening this half term.
