_{My name is Mrs Middleton and I am the teacher in Butterflies Class.}

Please read below all the exciting things we are going to be doing in Summer 2.  

Our topic this term is: Once Upon a Time! We will be exploring lots of different fairy tales and even have a fairytale celebration day with a special visitor.

Our Core Text is: You Choose Fairy Tales

We will also be reading lots of other exciting texts, such as: 

In Maths we are learning… 

1. We are learning all about doubles and understanding that it means adding the same numbers together.
2. Exploring odd and even numbers and what numbers are odd and even.
3. Learning how to find half of an amount by sharing and grouping.

In Phonics we are learning… 

1. We are going to be recapping and consolidating our learning of all Phase 3 graphemes and ensuring we can apply these independently during reading and writing.
2. Beginning to apply our learning into Phase 4 phonics
3. Tricky words: her, all, are, like, said, when, have, one, come, do, so, were, some, there, little, what, out.

Please don’t forget that children’s book bags need to be in school daily and reading records should be signed to show that children are reading at home 5 times a week.

Butterflies have PE on Thursdays so please ensure your child has their PE kit in school. 

Only stud earrings should not be worn for school in line with the uniform policy.
