Please read below all the exciting things we are going to be doing in Spring 1.  

Our topic this term is: We're Going to the Zoo! We will be learning all about different animals and their habitats with our exciting trip to Knowsley Safari Park.

Our Core Text is: Dear Zoo

We will also be reading lots of other exciting texts, such as: 

In Maths we are learning… 

1. Learning how to represent 9 and 10 in different ways using practical resources
2. Being able to confidently order numbers 0 – 10
3. Exploring the compostions of numbers 9 and 10.

In Phonics we are learning… 

1. Consolidate all Phase 2 phonic sounds and tricky words.
2. Introduce and learn Phase 3 graphemes: ai, ee, igh, oa, oo, ar, or, ur, ow, oi, ear, air, ure, er.
3. Tricky words: her, all, are, like, said, when, have, one, come, do, so, were, some, there, little, what, out.

Please don’t forget that children’s book bags need to be in school daily and reading records should be signed to show that children are reading at home 5 times a week.

Butterflies have PE on Thursdays so please ensure your child has their PE kit in school. 

Only stud earrings should not be worn for school in line with the uniform policy.
